This error usually means:
You didn’t join the required Google Group.
You’re not signed in with the same Google account linked to Play Store.
How to fix:
Use the same Gmail as your Play Store account.
Join this group: tester-pro-community.
After joining, re-open the app testing link.
You can get credits in two ways:
Earn for Free:
Install other users’ apps.
Keep the app for at least 14 days.
Open the app once or twice a day.
Don’t uninstall early - credits may be removed.
Note: If you uninstall the app too soon, Google won’t count it as a valid test. Real testing needs time - please keep the app for 14 days to support others and get fair results for your own app too.
Buy Credits:
Go to your Profile page.
Tap Buy Credits.
Choose a package and pay via Google Play.
Joining the Google Group ensures:
Access to all test apps.
Avoidance of the "Item not found" error.
Whitelisting for closed testing.
You must complete these 3 simple steps before uploading a new app:
Step 1: Add Tester Group
Go to Play Console → Test & release > Testing > Closed Testing.
In the testers section, choose “Google Groups”.
Add this group: tester-pro-community@googlegroups.com.
Save the changes.
Step 2: Set Countries
Go to the Countries/regions tab.
Select all countries and save.
Step 3: Submit for Review
Click “Send for review”.
Wait for approval and publish your app.
Follow these simple steps to upload your app for testing:
Choose your plan (Free / Premium Public / Private).
Enter your app URL.
Select how many testers you want.
Set the credits you want to share for testing.
Upload your app.
Testers should provide feedback on:
Bugs or crashes encountered.
UI/UX issues affecting usability.
Suggestions for improvement.
Honest opinions about the app.
Helpful feedback increases your trust rating.
Use the “Report” option to flag inappropriate comments. Admins will review and take action against rule violators, which may include warnings or account suspension.
Daily screenshots prove consistent 14-day usage, as required by Google Play policy. Fake or inactive installs don’t count; only verified, active usage helps developers meet requirements.
If testers uninstall early:
They won’t receive credits.
The test is considered invalid.
